Death with A Condition

DEATH WITH A CONDITION

In each minute 153,000 people die around the world.

I am okay with people dying because it is just life.
But, i am very not okay with people dying without Jesus in their life.

That is #1 tragedy for me.
Which sadly and realistically speaking, it is happening as i type this.

1 Timothy 2:4-7 (The Message)
"He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we've learned: that there's one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free. Eventually the news is going to get out. This and this only has been my appointed work: getting this news to those who have never heard of God, and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth. "

CJ with DWSX!

CJ WITH DWSX!
Last Wednesday, I went for a jog for the first time in a long long long long long time. I used to be quite an avid runner of both short and long distance in secondary school (which is 5 years ago). Won quite a few medals and trophies! HEHE! But then i lost my stamina drastically after i left secondary school as we didnt have 2.4km run, PE lessons, sports day and annual roadrace at Bedok reservoir.

Okay, I know thats not an excuse because exercising is one's responsibility and not the school. So i am starting to get myself running again to build my stamina not just on running long distance but also to enlarge my capacity to take consecutively long tiring days and nights (for school, events and work) and be mentally strong too (extremely strong).

After running that evening, i went to meet my siblings for CJ. Its my happy food and i eat it like on the avg of once a week. I am HUGE FAN of CJ! Great bonding time while eating, laughing, drinking (non-stop!) and window shopping. DW was bored though with the window shopping part. HAHA.

I kind of miss my long long hair! :(

Love them to bits!
Gonna get my another brother HJ to join us the next time round!

The Vision Of The Living Room

THE VISION OF THE LIVING ROOM
*Its a lengthy entry but do read!!!

4 years ago, when i felt God's calling to be a CGL, He showed me a vision during one of my CGMs with Su Ting. I was then a very intimidated fearful nerdy member! During that CGM, God gave me a vision. He showed me laying hands on people at this particular house that looks like Bayshore. It has similar living room layout, and i remembered the angle where i stood to lay hands, where the people faced and stood...

I remembered after that CGM, i was very puzzled, thinking it cant be i will be using bayshore for CGM in future! but at the same time amazed that i will really be a CGL and laying hands on people! hahaha. but anwyay I just keep that vision in mind.

When i took W472 and became a CGL last year, the place that we were using was Lakepoint and the living room was clearly not the one i saw, and i remembered feeling puzzled again, thinking was that vision i saw a flick of imagination or probably i still have to wait and see.

And just 4 months ago, our CG had plans to shift our CGM location to G's house at Dover. And that day in June, when I was otw to her house for the first visit to see if the place was suitable, God suddenly spoke to me on the train. He asked if i still remember the vision of the living room. My heart was beating so fast at that point, and i said yes. And during my whole journey to Dover, my heart was just pumping with excitment.

When i reached G's house on that day, opened the door, and saw the living room. I was just speechlessly in awe of God. It was the living room i saw 4 years ago; same angle, same layout.

And last night during our CGM, God's presence came in such a great way. I decided to lay hands on the people, and it was one of my best laying hands experience yet. And halfway through, as i stood in front waiting to lay my hands on Vincent, God suddenly reminded me again of that vision i had 4 years ago laying hands on people in that living room. At that point of time, the presence of God came so strongly and i teared and teared.

After CGM, as i took the train back home from Dover, I was reading Deuteronomy and i came across this verse that touched me:

Deu 1:9
"The LORD your God has multiplied you, and here you are today, as the stars of heaven in multitude."

It brought to my rememberance of how in Genesis, God showed Abraham that his decesendants will be like the stars of heaven and in Deuteronomy, it came to past. And tonight, God did the same for me, He brought one of the visions to past :)

And ending with a word of encouragement, if God can do it for me, God can do it for YOU as well! God is a God of His Word! :)

Mr Curry + Nectarie

MR CURRY + NECTARIE
Wednesday night, I was out at Clarke Quay with Jiahao for dinner at Central's Mr Curry. He's a big time lover for Japanese curry so we decided to give this restuarant a try. Afterwhich, Jiahao brought me and David (who came to join us later) for dessert at Nectarie along Clake Quay.

The menu was all colorful and very visual, had a hard time deciding what to eat!

Curry Ramen (Chef's recommendation)
3.5 out of 5

Curry Udon (Chef's Recommendation)
Both udon and the chicken were abit too hard to chew
3 out of 5

Chicken Wings
It was very average
2.5 out of 5

Caramelized Banana with White Chocolate
One of their recommendations. It has a thin layer of biscuit below and the banana flavour really enhance the whole flavour of the cake. V unique taste.
4 out of 5

Oreo Cheesecake
The sweetness was just right
3 out of 5

Chicago Cheesecake
Average
2.5 out of 5

Overall, it has a v good ambience, good setting to just chit chat over cakes :)

Aftermath

AFTERMATH

The 4 days wake and 1 day of cremation has finally ended.

Seen and learnt alot during this whole period.

We're both physically and emotionally tired.

Special thanks to Raj who came down not just 1 day to attend the wake on a busy Friday, but also for that 15 mins at the cremation yesterday to be there for us. Both of us were deeply moved by his gesture. He taught us the power of physical presence.

The Pain of a Departure

The Pain of a Departure

I just got home from a long day.

It was a difficult day today as this morning at 5am, Jiahao's grandpa left us forever.

I got the phone call at 10am when Jiahao woke me up from sleep. I was really saddened by the news. It was only 2 weeks ago that we just visited him. I remembered he was lying there and the state of his well-being made me shed tears uncontrollably that night. I silently prayed for him there, hoping that God will ease him of any pain or discomfort.

Earlier this week on Monday, I was just telling Jiahao that he's got to arrange to visit him again and perhaps his mum and him can just somehow talk to him about God, though he probably won't understand. But I guess we can try since there isnt any better way. I was still thinking probably on Saturday night after Jiahao's service in JW, we can make a trip down to see him again.

We were all rather prepared in our hearts as Jiahao's mum been telling all of us that his appetite is getting v bad and his stomach is bloated and he seems to be leaving soon. But I didnt know it was this soon, hence it really caught me off guard.

When Jiahao told me how he passed away this morning, I cried. How his grandpa shouted so loudly in the early morning because he felt extremely discomfort in his body and then after awhile there wasnt shouting anymore, and thats when they knew he had left. When i think of it again, I get all teary again.

At the wake today, I tried v hard to control my tears. Jiahao was running errrands the whole morning with the arrangements of the wake, he had a tired face but he just kept on helping out with all the setting up and different arrangements. But when the whole ceremony started, and I saw Jiahao broke down and cried, at how painful he felt after he carried his grandpa's body down to the coffin at the void deck, my tears started running and running. It was really emotional. As I accompanied his grandma to run an errand at her house, I was all teary eyed and trying not to let her see me cry. I thought to myself that it must be so hard on her to see her husband leave and thinking when is her turn. The mixture of fear and sadness all in her and she yet had to be strong in front of all her grown up children and grand children. I wonder and I cried.

Goodbyes are never easy especially when you know you can't see this person ever again.

I am ending here, sorry for such a sad and heavy entry but i do not know how should i end it on a lighter note.

Last word: lets be urgent for the salvation of our love ones.

Praying For Strangers

PRAYING FOR STRANGERS

For the past 8 months, I developed a habit of praying for strangers. Initially I started this prayer thing on the train as i take the train every single day. But then it grew on me so much that I started praying for people unknowingly when I am on the bus, or just walking down the streets, in shopping malls, watching tv etc. People like the cashier that is serving me, the ice cream man, the tired school boy dozing off, mum with difficult kids, tired looking businessman, old people with sadness in their eyes... just strangers that i meet everyday in life. I just look at them casually (as i do not want them to start wondering why am i staring at them) and pray for their salvation and sensing in my heart what to pray for them.

Beginning of June, I slowly began to see God assuring me that He's heard my prayers whenever I pray for the strangers.

1. During one of my MRT rides, I casually told God i would love to go HK for the mission trip. And that very same day, Juslin asked me if i would like to go HK for missions :) I felt God telling me for the first time, whatever I prayed on the train, He's heard it. It encourages me greatly to continue praying for strangers i meet.

2. On the day of the Canon camera lucky draw, I prayed on the train that I would be the winner that night. And I really won that night. Amazed!

3. Last month, I remembered vividly I prayed for these 2 boys that has really weird hairstyle and a few weeks later I saw the two boys on television for a split second! I instantly recognised them because of their hair!!! I WAS SO EXCITED! I felt God telling me, He's not forgotten about the prayer I made for them.

4. On Monday, I was in Giant waiting for Jiahao to choose a DVD player for his mum as it was his parents' 30th wedding anniversary. While waiting, I was watching this random tv show that they normally play on the many TV screens around. The program was about this Hawaiian man talking about his family and the culture in Hawaii, and unknowingly i started to pray for him in my heart for his salvation, his family and also revival in Hawaii.

The very next day, Jiahao told me that he is flying off with PK for 5 days in November to Hawaii!!! When he told me that, i was shocked, very shocked. I felt it was God's way of telling me, He's heard my prayer that night on Hawaii.

Somehow I am just v drawn to pray for these people I do not know. In my heart, I always visualise that one day when i go to Heaven, I will see these people there; the two boys with the weird hairstyle, the ice cream man, the group of 4 friends eating takopachi, the security guard, the old man on the bicycle, the waitress, the cab driver i gave my mooncakes to etc etc etc. I may not remember all their faces but I know God do love them and they are all in God's heart :)

And during the tuesday meeting we had 2 nights ago, God reminded me of a question He asked me 3-4 years ago during one of my QT that i did late in the night sitting on the kitchen floor with my guitar. That night, He asked if i would be willingly to stand in the gap to pray for people. I said yes but didnt really know what did God meant. And it was only that night on leaders meeting that i suddenly realised what i am doing now in life everyday, is actually what I was asked to do that night while siting on the cold kitchen floor.

I feel a sense of awe by God :)
